New Delhi: As a first-time car-buyer, there are many things that one looks at notably efficiency, cost but also features and practicality. With the new Alto K10 coming in, the question is whether you should look at the new K10 or S-Presso or the Kwid. All these three are popular cars so here is a quick comparison.

Which is the biggest?

The Renault Kwid is the biggest car here with the longest wheelbase, length or width with the S-Presso coming in next and then followed closely by the K10. Design wise, the Kwid and S-Presso have a mini SUV look to them with the S-Presso having a boxy look for sure. The Kwid looks premium but with edgier styling along with SUV like details thrown in. The K10 is more car-like with the Celerio-like curved styling.

Which has the better interior?

The new Kwid has a premium interior and now gets a new look steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster too. It has a 8-inch touchscreen as well plus features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rear camera with sensors, dual airbags, electrically adjustable ORVM, LED tail-lamps plus more. The S-Presso has a funky interior with the round centre console and the speedo also stuck on the middle while getting a 7-inch touchscreen plus digital instrument cluster, dual airbags, steering controls, electrically adjustable mirrors. The Alto K10 has a more conservative design but gets an improvement in quality plus the same touchscreen as S-Presso while also getting steering mounted controls and more. Both the Maruti cars get dual airbags, ABS with rear parking sensors but miss out on a rear camera.

Which is more efficient?

The Kwid, S-Presso and the K10 come with 1.0l petrol engines while the Kwid slightly has more torque at 91Nm and more power at 72 PS. The Maruti cars make 67PS and 89Nm. All cars offer a 5-speed MT/AMT as well. The S-Presso is the most efficient car at 25.30 kmpl along with 24.90 kmpl for the Alto K10 and the Kwid delivering 22.25 kmpl.

Which is the most valuable?

Alto K10 prices start from Rs 4- Rs 5.3 lakh while the Kwid 1.0 starts from Rs 4.7 lakh to Rs 5.5 lakh. The S-Presso starts from Rs 4.25 lakh to Rs 5.4 lakh. The Alto is the cheapest and the one to buy if you want a hatchback shape and do not like the boxy S-Presso while the S-Presso is the one with more mileage and more space too even if it looks boxy. The Kwid is the most premium car here and with most features but not as efficient. Hence, if you want a premium SUV like looks and features, go for Kwid else the S-Presso/K10 is there for more efficiency and the Maruti network.
