Mercedes-Benz has launched the new generation of its best selling luxury sedan, the E-Class in India at a starting price of Rs 78.5 lakh. The new E-Class comes with added technology and more features plus it is longer as well. Design wise, the new E-Class gets a new grille with the star pattern and new flush door handles.



Other changes include new LED headlights and taillights plus soft close doors. Inside the E-Class now gets a Superscreen where two screens are joined together and there is an additional digital driver display too. There are new digital vent controls as well while additional features have been added in like a selfie camera which can be used for zoom meetings.



The rear seat meanwhile is even more spacious with seat base extension, chauffeur package, electric sunblinds and a dual zone air con for the rest seat as well. There is also a Burmester 4D sound system with personalisation too. Finally the new E-Class gets mild hybrid four cylinder diesel and petrol engines on offer.

 

However, a new addition is a more powerful 6 cylinder turbo petrol E450 with 4Matic which retails at Rs 92.5 lakh. A 9-speed automatic is standard along with comfort suspension too. The carmaker has brought in ADAS features too. The new E-Class has five colour options and three interior upholstery options on offer with a new colour being added.



The E-Class has been the first model by Mercedes-Benz to be on sale in India and the new generation brings in more changes including the earlier mentioned length/wheelbase increase. In terms of sales, the new E-Class has been one of the best selling Mercedes-Benz cars and consistently has been their most popular car.
