The Jaguar F-Pace is the most beautiful SUV ever made and to think when you look at it, you half expect the price-tag to end with "crores". However, the new F-Pace is in fact just under Rs 70 lakh. That makes it a bargain of sorts because you cannot get a more stylish SUV at this price. This factor should alone be its selling point but there is more. This is the 2021 F-Pace which has been completely updated including the exteriors and interiors along with the technology of course.
Try as you might, you simply cannot walk past the F-Pace without staring at it. The basic shape is still the same and it is simply gorgeous but what Jaguar has done is basically make it even prettier. The new LED lights are slimmer while sporting the Jaguar trademark J-blade signature then the bumpers are sharpened along with a newly sculpted hood. It has the curves but all in the right places!
More than the exteriors, the interior (a weakness of the previous-gen model) has been completely thrown away for a brand new design along with a mix of plusher materials. Our car had a fantastic spec with the red interior along with aluminium inserts. There is contrast stitching too while quality is now much improved and it feels expensive here. Do notice the gear selector finished beautifully with the ‘cricket-ball’ stitching.
There are a lot of touch surfaces just like on the Land Rovers which take some time getting used to, but you do eventually get the hang of it. The features on offer include the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system along with an HD curved touch-screen while elsewhere you also get a 3D Surround Camera, Meridian Audio System, Four Zone Climate Control, Row 2 Seat with Power Recline, Interactive Driver Display, Cabin Air Ionisation and a Fixed Panoramic Roof. Compared to other SUVs at this price, the F-Pace has also one of the roomiest cabins, feeling much bigger here.
There are two engines on offer with a 2.0l diesel and a 2.0l turbo petrol. We drove the petrol engine and with 250hp and 365Nm, the engine is fairly powerful for a big SUV like the F-Pace. In a way it drives like a proper Jaguar with brilliant ride and handling. It feels sporty and the engine plays its part too with being eager to rev. It surely feels different than other SUVs with a heavier steering and being a driver's choice. Compared to other turbo-petrol engines, it is less muted and we like the growl of this engine. You get the idea that the F-Pace likes to party and wants you to join in as well.
Honestly, the F-Pace looks like a crore plus SUV easily with its look and the rest of the car also matches up. Post this update and with the new interior, the F-Pace should sell well.
What we like- stunning looks, quality, features, performance, price
What we do not- Not an off-roader
