Eid-al-Fitr will also be celebrated in Ladakh on Wednesday. "Crescent has been sighted in Kargil, Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow on April 10, 2024 in Kargil, Ladakh," Jammiat-ul-Ulama Isna Ashria, Kargil-Ladakh, said in a statement, as quoted by PTI.
Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday as the crescent for the Islamic month of Shawwal was sighted here, the Union Territory's grand Mufti Nasir-Ul-Islam announced on Tuesday, as reported by PTI. "Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow (Wednesday) as the moon has been sighted," the J-K's Grand Mufti said, as quoted by PTI.
He said the consultative committee headed by him received enough evidence from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir about the sighting of the Shawwal crescent. The evidences were corroborated and a decision was taken to announce that Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated in the Union Territory on Wednesday.

Eid-al-Fitr 2024: Here's what Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, Chairperson of the Islamic Centre of India (ICI), told PTI on moon sighting.
"The Moon could not be sighted in Lucknow on April 9 and there is no information on Moon sighting from any other part of India. Hence, it is announced that the 30th roza will be observed tomorrow (on April 10) and on April 11, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country."

Muslims in India will celebrate Eid ul-Fitr on April 11 (Thursday) as the moon was not sighted on Tuesday, announced Muslim religious leader Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli. The announcement was made by the Markazi Chand Committee Eidgah Lucknow, confirming the non-sighting of the moon for Eid. Imams of Delhi's Jama Masjid and Fatehpuri mosque also confirmed the same that Eid would be celebrated in India on Thursday, according to news agency PTI.
"The new moon of Shawwal has not occurred on 9th April 2024. Therefore, tomorrow is the 30th Roza and Eid-ul-Fitr will be on 11 April 2024. Eid ul Fitr prayers will be held at Idgah Lucknow on 11 April 2024 at 10 am," the notification read.
