Alla Ramakrishna Reddy who resigned from YSR Congress Party two months back returned to the party fold on Tuesday. The Mangalagiri constituency MLA accompanied by YSRCP MP Ayodhya Rami Reddy met CM and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office in Andhra Pradesh.
Taking to X, YSR Congress Party said, Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy met Chief Minister YS Jagan at the CM Camp office and joined back in YSRCP.
After publicly resigning from the YSRCP and stepping down as an MLA, Ramakrishna Reddy had chosen to align himself with Jagan's sister, YS Sharmila, following her entry into the Congress party.
Subsequently, when Sharmila assumed the role of state Congress chief, Ramakrishna Reddy was frequently seen in her company. Notably, he accompanied Sharmila to Jagan's residence when she visited to extend an invitation for her son's wedding.
However, it appears that Ramakrishna Reddy has now reconciled with the YSRCP after being assured of significant responsibilities in the constituency for the upcoming Assembly elections.
On December 11, citing personal reasons, Ramakrishna Reddy announced his resignation from both the YSRCP and the Assembly. Despite submitting his resignation to the Speaker's office, it was not accepted.
His discontent stemmed from the appointment of Ganji Chiranjeevi as constituency incharge for Mangalagiri by the YSRCP leadership. Additionally, he felt aggrieved by internal party pressure not to nominate him for the forthcoming elections.
Ramakrishna Reddy gained prominence after defeating Telugu Desam Party (TDP) General Secretary Nara Lokesh in the 2019 elections from Mangalagiri, which encompasses the Amaravati capital region. He also initiated numerous legal actions against the then TDP Government concerning the Amaravati land dispute.
