Hyderabad: Due to the influence of the southwest monsoon and low-pressure trough some districts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana will receive moderate rains for the next two days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that heavy rains are likely in some areas.
The monsoon trough currently extends over 1.5 km above mean sea level, passing through low-pressure areas around Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Northeast Vidarbha, Raipur, Paradeep and southeastward to the east-central Bay of Bengal. IMD predicts there will be rains in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Yanam on Tuesday.
The Amaravati Met office said heavy rains would occur in Yanam on Tuesday along with Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. There is a chance of thundershowers in these three districts on Tuesday, and people have been warned to be alert. A yellow alert has been issued for these districts. In some places, there will be thunder and lightning rains. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said in a review meeting on Monday that the flow of Godavari is gradually decreasing.
The Amaravati Met office has said there would be moderate rains in South Coastal Andhra. Rayalaseema districts will experience thundershowers in some places. Chittoor district bordering Tamil Nadu and Kurnool district will receive light to moderate rains on Tuesday. Nandyala and Sri Sathyasai districts also receive rains.
Rains In Telangana
Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in many districts of Telangana on Tuesday. Hyderabad Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for five districts. Officials said heavy rains would occur in Adilabad, Komaram Bhim Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts. People of north Telangana districts have been warned to be alert.
