Six persons died in a road accident due to a collision between a container and a mini truck in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh early Friday morning. 


According to a police official, the accident occurred at around 5 am near Seetanapalli. In the impact of the collision, the drivers of both vehicles, along with three other occupants, died on the spot. Another victim succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital.


On Friday, Machilipatnam DSP Subhani said, "The mini truck rammed into the container lorry while overtaking a tractor carrying wooden logs. Five people died on the spot, while another died en route to the hospital. Further details are awaited."

The official further disclosed that at the time of the accident, one of the trucks was carrying 10 people, while the other vehicle had a driver and an assistant. The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined, and an investigation is currently underway.


The police officer, as per a report on PTI said, "A tractor was going in the front and a light commercial vehicle (LCV) in the process of overtaking the tractor hit it slightly and lost control."


He mentioned that a container truck carrying shrimp feed collided with the LCV while traveling in the opposite direction.


Minister Kollu Ravindra visited the injured at the hospital, instructing doctors to provide special care, as per the report.


In a subsequent media briefing, he conveyed that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced a solatium of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased.
