Hyderabad: Six people were killed while 10 others were injured in a road accident as a minivan collided with a truck in Rentachintala village in Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh, on Monday. The injured were shifted to a government hospital in Gurazala, where some are said to be in critical condition. They were returning from temple town Srisailam when this tragedy happened.


The minivan was carrying 35 people when it overturned after colliding with a truck parked on the side of the road.


“A serious road accident took place in the Palnadu district. Six people were killed when a truck collided with a parked minivan and turned it turtle. Another 10 sustained serious injuries,” ANI quoted Gurazala Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jayram as saying.

The police rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations after receiving the information, DSP said. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway.


The deceased have been identified as Kotamma, 70, Roshamma, 65, Ramadevi, 50, Ramana, 50, Koteshwari, 45 and Lakshminarayana, 35. They are reportedly the residents of BC colony from Rantachintala village. The severely injured were rushed to Guntur General Hospital. The condition of some of the accident victims is critical, said SI Sameer Basha.
