Andhra Pradesh: The State Election Commission on Tuesday released the notification for filing of nominations for the Andhra Pradesh MLC elections.
According to the notification issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, nominations for the elections of the 12 MLCs representing the local bodies will be accepted from Tuesday till November 23. Withdrawal of nominiations would be allowed till November 26, as per the notice.
Polling for the MLC seats will be held from 8am to 4pm on December 10 and counting of votes will be on December 16.
The Election Commission has issued notification for one vacancy in Anantapur, Kurnool, East Godavari, Vijayanagaram, Chittoor and Prakasam districts and two vacancies in Krishna, Guntur and Visakhapatnam.
The Election Code of Conduct came into force in the respective districts with the release of the notification today.
YSR Congress Party has already announced the MLC candidates for local bodies - Indukuru Raju (Vijayanagaram), Varudu Kalyani (Visakha), Vamsi Krishnayadav (Visakha), Anantha Uday Bhaskar (East Godavari), Mondithoka Arun Kumar (Krishna), Thalashila Raghuram (Krishna), Ummareddy Venkateshwarlu (Guntur), Murugudu Hanumantrao (Guntur), Tumati Madhavarao (Prakash), Krishna Raghava Jayendra Bharat (Chittoor) and Y Sivaramireddy (Anantapur).
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday handed over the B-forms to YSRCP MLC candidates Palavalasa Vikrant from Srikakulam, Isaac Basha from Kurnool and DC Govindareddy from Kadapa for nomination filing.
