The Andhra Pradesh High Court posted TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's anticipatory bail petition in Amaravati Inner Ring Road Scam case to October 18. The Andhra Pradesh Police CID submitted its counter to Naidu’s anticipatory bail plea on Monday. Naidu moved an anticipatory bail petition in the HC after the court rejected his regular bail application on technical grounds.
The Amaravati Inner Ring Road case is related to accusations of tampering with the master plan of Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. The allegations include modifying the alignment of the Inner Ring Road and misusing the seed capital to offer undue enrichment to multiple companies during the regime of former Chief Minister Naidu.
In the same case, three more individuals connected to former minister P Narayana - R Sambasiva Rao, P Pramila, and P Rama Devi - filed anticipatory bail pleas.
The CID issued notices under Section 41A CrPC to two individuals and is in the process of serving it to the remaining person. As a result, the high court dismissed their petitions, as reported by PTI.
The CID also petitioned HC to reopen the Amaravati Land Scam case which named former CM and Narayana.
The probe agency filed a petition to reopen the case as new evidence has emerged.
Earlier, Chandrababu Naidu's family members took to social media to express their concern about the 'declining' health of the former CM.
Taking to X, Nara Bhuvaneswari said, "I am deeply concerned for my husband's well-being, as the Govt of Andhra Pradesh has failed to provide him with the timely medical care he urgently needs while he remains in prison."
She said, Chandrababu Naidu lost 5 kg weight in prison and further weight loss could have severe consequences for his kidneys.
