A government volunteer was arrested under POCSO Act for raping a minor girl in Denduluru mandal of Eluru district on Thursday. The issue came to light after the family members found out that the girl was pregnant due to the rape. The parents then registered a complaint with the police following which the officials traced the accused and arrested him.
The volunteer was reportedly involved in "checking" the Aadhaar cards, said a report on ETV Bharat.
According to ANI, In the Denduluru mandal of Eluru district, a minor girl was raped by a government volunteer. The police have registered a case and arrested the volunteer Siva Kumar under the POCSO Act.
Nuzuveedu DSP Ashok Goud said, "We caught the accused with the help of evidence. The minor girl stopped her studies while pursuing 10th class in the village government school. A volunteer Siva Kumar raped her. Her parents noticed changes in her body and took her to the hospital and found she was pregnant."
"The parents have registered a case. With special teams, we traced the accused and arrested him. Soon, he will be produced before the court. She will be sent to the rehabilitation centre," he said.

The accused was identified as Sivakumar and he was caught as the accused with technical evidence.
The Nuzvid DSP Ashok Kumar said that there was no political pressure on them in the case.
