Holi Skincare Tips: Things To Keep In Mind To Avoid Allergies

People with atopic dermatitis, sensitive skin, dry skin, photosensitivity , rosacea, psoriasis , bronchitis and other allergic diseases should take extra precautions as the condition can flare up

Patients with acute eczema should avoid playing Holi.

No facials, waxing threading, laser hair removal or any cosmetic procedures should be done atleast 1 week prior to Holi

Apply olive oil or moisturiser liberally all over body and hair before playing to prevent the colours from coming in direct contact with your skin

Apply moisturiser or vaseline on and under the nails. This will prevent nails from getting stained.

One can wear protective clothing like water-proof tights under clothes, full sleeves clothes etc

Remove colours as soon as you have finished playing

Vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil can be used to remove colours

Use conditioner after shampooing and apply generous amount of moisturiser after bath.

Use a syndet or gentle cleansers for face wash and (pH balanced soap) for bathing rather than a soap

In case you develop any redness itching, or rashes it is important to visit a dermatologist for the appropriate treatment.
