Israeli police clashed with Palestinians inside the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem early on Wednesday.

Witnesses said Israeli forces used excessive force including stun grenades & tear gas causing injuries to worshippers.

Israeli police said it entered mosque after “masked agitators brought into the mosque fireworks, sticks, and stones”.

Palestinian Red Crescent said at least 2 were transferred to hospital suffering from rubber bullets injuries.

Palestinian Authority PM Shtayyeh said: “What happened in Jerusalem is a major crime against worshipers.

Jordan, which acts as custodian of Jerusalem’s Christian & Muslim holy sites, condemned Israel’s “flagrant” storming.

After overnight clashes, al-Aqsa reopened for dawn prayers, and some worshipers were allowed to enter.
