Farmers' Protest: Centre Proposes 5-Year Plan

Centre has proposed to buy pulses, maize at MSP for five years from farmers

The proposal was made during meeting between farmer leaders and 3 Union ministers on Sunday

Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Arjun Munda, and Nityanand Rai held the meeting

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also joined the meeting

Farmer leaders said they would discuss the propsal and decide next course of action

Union minister Piyush Goyal said innovative and out-of-the-box idea came up during discussions

Cooperative societies will enter into contract with farmers growing pulses, said Goyal

There will be no limit on the quantity and a portal will be developed for this, he added

Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said discussions were held on several issues
