Rice Flour, Water, Grated Coconut, Jaggery, Ghee, Cardamom Powder, Chocolate Chips, Cream, Vanilla Essence
Boil 1 cup water with a pinch of salt, then gradually add 1 cup rice flour, stirring continuously. Cook until the mixture pulls away from the sides, then cool and knead the dough.
Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon cream in a microwave or double boiler, stirring until smooth. Mix in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and let cool slightly.
Lightly grease your hands with ghee to handle the dough easily.
Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it into a disc about 2 inches in diameter.
Place a spoonful of the chocolate filling in the center of the dough disc.
Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching them together to seal. Shape into a small cone or use a modak mold.
Steam the modaks for 10-12 minutes until they are firm and cooked through.
Let the modaks cool slightly before serving and enjoy the delicious blend of chocolate and traditional flavors.
