G20 Lockdown: Glimpses From New Delhi Roads New Delhi turned into a fortress of sorts on the eve of the two-day G20 Summit taking place on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi. Strict security is in place as a gaggle of world leaders will assemble at venue Bharat Mandapam. Travelling on the road to summit venue Bharat Mandapam reminded people of the Covid-induced lockdowns. There were few vehicles on New Delhi roads from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (assembly point for media) till the Pragati Maidan venue. On every crucial road, police have placed barricades and are checking every movement. Entire New Delhi area has been closed due to security reasons. All public buses are standing parked inside garages. There were empty roads in some of the crucial traffic junctions. G20 Summit is being held under India’s presidency for the first time.
