India is set to host the 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10. Leaders from countries like the US, China, France, Brazil, Australia, and Russia will participate in intense discussions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new venue, the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC). It's the first time India will host the G20 Summit, with leaders including US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping in attendance. India has invited heads of 10 other countries, including Bangladesh, the UAE, Egypt, and Singapore. The venue, formerly Pragati Maidan, cost Rs 2,700 crores and spans 123 acres but will be used solely for meetings. The ITPO Convention Centre at the complex is India's largest for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). The centre's decor showcases the essence of India, with art, carpets, and showcases from various regions. It boasts 24 meeting rooms, including an extravagant summit room with chandeliers and peacock feather designs. The complex is larger than Australia's Sydney Opera House and can accommodate around 14,000 people.
