Deepotsav 2023: A Glimpse Of Preparations At Ayodhya This Year

As per an official release, the Uttar Pradesh government has set target of lighting 21 lakh lamps and create a world record, reported ANI.

Around 25,000 volunteers will be deployed at 51 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi and Chaudhary Charan Singh Ghat to achieve the record.

Under the supervision of ghat in-charges and ghat coordinators, the volunteers have already placed 60-70 per cent of the 24 lakh lamps at the ghats, the press release mentioned.

The Ram Ki Paidi ghats illuminated ahead of the seventh Deepotsav. To ensure that people in the city can enjoy the event, 24 LED vans have been placed at different locations.

Light and sound show and projection mapping will be done at Ram ki Paidi. The state government has also invited artists from various parts of the country to take part in the celebrations.

In 2022, a total of 17 lakh earthen lamps across 37 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi were lit creating a mesmerising sight. The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Deepotsav preparations, Ayodhya DM Nitish Kumar said, 'Ram Leela from four countries will be showcased for three days in Ayodhya. Light &sound show and projection mapping will be done at Ram ki Paidi.'

'24 LED vans have been placed at 24 locations across the city for people to witness the Deepotsav. More than 24 lakh diyas will be lit across 51 ghats during this Deepotsav. Earthern lamps will also be lit on many other ghats and kunds,' he added.
