View In AppThe acute water crisis facing residents of many slum colonies in Delhi shows no signs of resolution. On Wednesday morning, residents of a slum near East Delhi's Geeta Colony could be seen queuing up in front of the lone water tanker that came to supply water to the area. The daily chore of fetching water from a lone tanker amid the intense heat often leads to scuffles, said residents who had lined up to fill their buckets and containers. "There are so many problems related to water. Fights are quite common. Just a single water tanker comes, and how can that be sufficient? They can only bring the quantity of water that has been ordered. Water is not available. As you can see, everyone is fighting with each other. (Water) bottles are thrown away," says Resident. The Delhi government has during the past fortnight repeatedly accused Haryana of not releasing the national capital's share of water. The BJP on the other hand has accused the AAP government in Delhi of mismanagement and held it responsible for the water crisis in some parts of the capital.
