Votes will be counted for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls today, with both the BJP and AAP upbeat about winning the first civic election in the national capital after the fresh delimitation exercise. The AAP claimed a "landslide" victory as predicted by exit polls even as the BJP, which has been controlling municipal bodies for 15 years, said the tide would turn in their favour after the counting of votes. The results will be announced today after the counting of polled votes on all the 250 municipal wards. Any party that gets 126 seats will get a majority and gain the power of the civic body. Voting for MCD elections was held on Sunday.
