At Mahakumbh 2025, Nirmohi Ani Akhara’s Mahant has raised concerns over the recent stampede incident, highlighting the challenges of managing such a massive gathering. Speaking about the chaos, he emphasized the need for enhanced security measures and better crowd control to prevent such occurrences in the future.Despite the incident, a massive turnout was seen on Basant Panchami, with over 62.25 lakh devotees taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam by 8 AM. The total number of pilgrims participating in the Kumbh so far has reached 34.97 crore. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared images of the Amrit Snan, extending his blessings to saints, Kalpvasis, Akharas, and devotees.The administration has opened all bridges to facilitate movement, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation through a dedicated war room. While crowd management has been largely effective, concerns raised by religious leaders indicate the need for further vigilance to ensure a safe and smooth experience for all pilgrims.
