Mahakumbh 2025: Basant Panchami Sees Lower Pilgrim Turnout Than Mauni Amavasya

At Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, the number of devotees taking the holy dip on Basant Panchami was lower compared to the massive turnout on Mauni Amavasya. Despite this, a large crowd gathered at the Triveni Sangam for the sacred Amrit Snan. By 8 AM, over 62.25 lakh devotees had taken the ritualistic dip, while the total number of pilgrims participating in the Kumbh so far has reached 34.97 crore.Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared visuals of the grand event, extending his blessings to saints, Kalpvasis, Akharas, and devotees. The Kumbh administration has ensured smooth crowd management, with multiple bridges open for seamless movement.Authorities continue to monitor the event through a dedicated war room, ensuring security and logistics are well managed. While the footfall on Basant Panchami was lower than Mauni Amavasya, the spiritual fervor remained high as thousands sought divine blessings at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.
