Following a robust performance in the December quarter, where it surpassed Samsung to become the world's top phone maker, Apple saw a significant sales downturn in Q1 of this year.

According to new data from research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), Cupertino, California-based Apple witnessed roughly a 10 per cent decline in smartphone shipments in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024 in the wake of heightened competition from Android smartphone manufacturers vying for dominance.
