India To Have 5,000 Cyber Commandos By 2029: Why Such A Squad Has Become A Need Of The Hour

In today’s complex cyber landscape, characterised by rampant ransomware attacks, phishing schemes, and state-sponsored cyber activities, the need for robust cybersecurity measures is paramount.

India will soon have a sizeable squad of "Cyber Commandos". Earlier this month, the Narendra Modi Government unveiled a plan to train 5,000 Cyber Commandos over the next five years, aiming to address the escalating threats posed by cybercrime. This announcement was made during the inaugural Foundation Day celebration of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), a national body dedicated to tackling cybercrime issues.
