Apple Peek Performance Event HIGHLIGHTS: MacStudio, Studio Display Unveiled
Apple hosted its first event of the year, the ‘Peek Performance’ event. It announced products such as iPhone SE 3, an updated iPad Air, MacStudio, and Studio Display.
The price of MacStudio starts at $1,999 (roughly Rs. 1,53,700) for the M1 Max + 32GB RAM variant. For the M1 Ultra + 64GB RAM variant, the starting price is $3,999 (roughly Rs. 3,07,600).
The price of Studio Display starts at $1,599 (roughly Rs. 1,23,000), with tilt and height adjustable stand, and nano-texture glass options. Both MacStudio and Studio Display are available to pre-order from today.
The Apple Studio Display has an all-screen design with a narrow border. This is a 27.5-inch display. Apple is calling this a 5K Retina Display, which comes with an anti-reflective coating, with an A13 Bionic chipset inside. The Studio Display has a 12MP ultra-wide camera, the same seen on the iPad. It also supports the Centre Stage feature for FaceTime calls, and comes with a high-fidelity six-speaker audio system that also supports Spatial Audio along with Dolby Atmos.
Apple unveiles the MacStudio, a brand new Mac machine. It features a compact PC form factor, and is bigger than the Mac mini. Also, it is geared to be a high-performance desktop. The MacStudio measures 7.7 inches square at the base, and has a height of 3.7 inches.
With the M1 chipset, which is an 8-core CPU, Apple's revamped iPad Air is now two times faster than the Windows 10 laptops in the same price range, Apple claims. The iPad Air now has a 12MP ultra-wide camera, supports centre-stage on FaceTime, and has 5G connectivity too.
