New Delhi: Four accused have been arrested in Gonda over a video that showed miscreants beating up a student after making him remove his clothes.


In a video circulating on social media, a student is seen pleading with folded hands as four people lash him with sticks and belts. The boy in the video is said to be a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya ITI.

Following this, Mankapur Kotwali Police registered a case against four people. They have arrested accused persons identified as Adesh Singh, Prakhar Singh, Ankit Singh, and Karan Baba. All the arrested accused are residents of Mankapur police station area.


The video is believed to be 10 days old. The student was allegedly picked from his school and taken to a deserted area where the miscreants thrashed him while he pleaded to be released and apologised. In the video, the boy was made to remove his shirt and beaten up, then he was compelled to remove his pants after which, the miscreants thrashed his legs.


According to inputs, a Mankapur police official informed that this video is a few days old. He said that there was a dispute between the two groups about something, after which, they took this boy alone and beat him. Neither party had given a complaint in this case, hence, the FIR was not registered. 


Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar said that action is being taken in the matter as a case was registered after the video surfaced. More details pertaining to the incident are awaited.
