Lucknow: Witnessing significant decline in the number of daily covid cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday further relaxed covid restrictions, easing the night curfew hours in the state by two hours from Monday and allowing shops, malls and restaurants to continue operations till 10 pm on weekdays. 


As per the revised guidelines, the nigh curfew in the state will be imposed from 10pm to 6am. Earlier, the night curfew hours were from 9 pm to 7 am. Saturday and Sunday will continue to be observed as weekly holidays.


Moreover, chief minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh has also allowed resumption of markets located outside of containment zones, and allowed restaurants to open with 50 per cent capacity. 


Meanwhile, Gyms, cinema halls and sports complexes are permitted to open with 50% capacity while swimming pools have not been permitted to open. Maximum of 50 persons can gather in weddings. The dine-in facilities can only be availed between 7 AM to 9 PM. Violation of the police order will be punishable under section 188 (disobeying public order) of the IPC.


The revised covid guiudelines have come at the time when the state reported about 125 new infected cases and four COVID-19 deaths on Saturday, taking the total number of fatalities and infections to 22,693 and 17,07,225 respectively. No district reported fresh cases in double figures on Saturday and now four districts have no active cases now.
