Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday participated in the Holi celebrations at Gorakhnath Temple. He was seen throwing colours at the massive crowd that had gathered at the temple premises to participate in the celebration. Yogi Adityanath also participated in the procession of 'Lord Narsimha Shobha Yatra,' in Gorakhpur.
Before leading the 'Lord Narsingh Shobha Yatra' the UP CM stated: "For the past several days, followers of Sanatana Dharma across the country have been participating in this festival by taking their heritage of 1000 years to a new height of joy and enthusiasm through a festival like Holi. They express their gratitude towards their heritage."
He further stated that the yatra is aimed at connecting people from every section of the society. "On this occasion, we spread the message of establishing a prosperous society through this Shobha Yatra, connecting people from every section of society with our enthusiasm... Sanatana Dharma believes in 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' he added.
CM Yogi Adityanath was also seen performing pooja and aarti at the Gorakhnath 'Math' Temple.
The UP CM has been putting up at Gorakhpur since Sunday and has participated in several activities as a part of the Holi celebrations.
On Monday, the UP CM performed Rudrabhishek at Gorakhnath temple, following this, the priests of the 'math' completed the rituals by reciting 'Mahamantras.' He also performed a 'havan' and an 'aarti,' news agency PTI reported.
The chief priest of Gorakhnath temple Yogi Kamal Nath, Arvind Chaturvedi, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba from Kashi, and Ashwani Tripathi, were also present during the Rudrabhishek ritual.
