Dehradun: Kedarnath Dham, a temple whose walls generally echoed with chants of Lord Shiva, are now echoing with calls of protest by temple priests. The priests of Kedarnath Dham have been protesting for two months demanding the dissolution of the Devasthanam Board. Priests continue to protest in front of the premises of Kedarnath Dham, irrespective of the rough weather.

Protests have been going on for the past two months


The movement of Kedarnath Teerth Purohit Samaj, demanding the dissolution of the Devasthanam Board, has been going on since the past two months. Tirth Purohit Board is adamant on dissolving the board. Priests continue to protest in the temple's premises irrespective of the rough weather. The pilgrimage priests living in Kedarnath took out a rally in the temple premises on Monday in protest against the Devasthanam Board and demanded the dissolution of the board. During this, the pilgrim priests staged a 'dharna' on the road leading to the temple premises and raised slogans against the government and the Devasthanam Board.


Demand to dissolve Devasthanam Board


The priests at Kedarnath Teerth Purohit Samaj say that a movement against the Devasthanam Board has been going on in the 'Char Dham' of Uttarakhand, but the government has not yet taken any decision on dissolving the board. This movement would continue till the board is dissolved.
