PM Narendra Modi during his 110th edition of the monthly radio program 'Mann Ki Baat' interacted with 'Drone Didi' and mentioned the implementation of the NAMO Drone Didi program to assist women in becoming essential participants in their local agricultural supply chains. After interaction with PM Modi, 'Drone Didi' Sunita told news agency ANI, "I am very happy to speak to the PM. Couldn't even dream of speaking to the Prime Minister..."


Stressing women's empowerment, she further remarked, "People think that women cannot do anything other than the household chores, but if a woman decides, she can do everything... We use drones to spray the fields that are large in area. It saves time. An acre of land can be sprayed in 10 minutes."

Earlier in the day, highlighting 'Drone Didi' Sunita's ground-breaking use of drones in farming, as well as technical developments and innovative agricultural methods, PM Modi said "Who would have thought till a few years ago that in our country, women living in villages would also fly drones? But today this is becoming possible. Today, there is so much discussion about Drone Didi in every village, 'Namo Drone Didi, Namo Drone Didi' is on everyone's lips. Everyone is talking about them."


PM Modi also discussed women's empowerment throughout the program and said that India's Nari Shakti is reaching unprecedented levels of development across all domains. "After a few days on March 8, we will celebrate Women's Day. This special day is an opportunity to salute the contributions of women's power in the developmental journey of the country. The great poet Bharathiyar Ji has said that the world will prosper only when women get equal opportunities," he added.
