Kanwar Yatra 2021: The arrival of Kanwariyas begins in Uttarakhand as soon as the month of Sawan starts. During the month of Sawan, lakhs of Shiva devotees reach Haridwar on foot to collect the Ganges water and carry the Ganges water on their shoulders and leave for their destinations.


Due to the present situation of Corona and the possibility of the outbreak of the third wave, the Uttarakhand government has canceled the world's largest Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar.

After the cancellation of Kanwar Yatra, a coordination meeting was also held by IG Law and Order of Uttarakhand with police officers of several states at the CCR Tower auditorium in Haridwar. In the coordination meeting, issues related to Kanwar Yatra were discussed, and instructions to strictly follow the orders were given. Police officers from other states also assured the Uttarakhand Police of full cooperation during the Kanwar Yatra period.


Ganga water will be available on the border


Now the police have geared up to stop the entry of Kanwar pilgrims in Haridwar. Ganga water tankers will be arranged on the border for the convenience of devotees. Disguised Kanwariyas who violate the rules will be quarantined and legal action will be taken against them.


Haridwar SSP says that after banning the Kanwar yatra, the district administration has started the exercise to implement it. Security work is being done by dividing the entire area into 4 super zones and 17 sectors. Two companies of PAC have been deployed at Narcan and Bhagwanpur border. The rest of the force will be deployed soon after getting it. Entry in Har Ki Pauri is restricted and will be monitored.
