However, ever since his death, his family including his son Umar Ansari and brother Afzal Ansari alleged that he was poisoned in jail. With his postmortem slated to be conducted today, a magisterial probe has been launched into the matter to study the report closely.
Meanwhile, UP Minister and Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad stated: "Death is natural for everybody that is born. People should believe in science because forensic examination is the only thing that can be trusted."
Amidst all this, an application filed by the deceased Mukhtar Ansari in front of the Chief Judicial Magistrate at Mau Court, in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district on March 21 has surfaced. In the application, Ansari had claimed that the jail administration tried to kill him multiple times. He had stated before the court in a video conferencing on March 20 that the jail administration tried to murder him by poisoning his food on the night of March 19, the application read.
The application also stated that even before this attempt, two attempts were made to kill Mukhtar Ansari at the Banda jail. Mentioning the "credible world sources" of this information regarding the murder conspiracies, the applicant stated that the plan to murder Ansari was allegedly hatched by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, "mafia don" and BJP-supported MLC Brijesh Singh, BJP MLA Sushil Singh, former IG STF Amitabh Yash, and Principal Home Secretary.
He also claimed in his application that the conspiracy was planned by the Uttar Pradesh government and that the people involved in the plan had been assured protection from the legal proceedings. Mukhtar Ansari requested the court to take necessary legal action and pass necessary orders to ensure his safety inside the Banda jail.
