New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday levelled serious allegations against the Congress during an election rally in Amroha, and said the grand old party has in its election manifesto expressed its intention to implement the 'Sharia law' in the country and redistribute people's property.

"The Congress and its allies have betrayed the country and have once again come to you with their false manifesto. If you look at the Congress' manifesto, they say that if they form a government, we will implement Sharia law.   You tell me, will this country be run by the Constitution made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar or by Shariat?" PTI quoted Adityanath as saying.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his election rallies, accused the Congress of advocating for the redistribution of people's property, citing their manifesto's mention of 'vyaktigat kanoon' (personal laws). UP CM Yogi Adityanath echoed these sentiments, saying that the inclusion of personal laws in the Congress manifesto implies the implementation of Sharia law, especially in the context of Modi's efforts to curb practices like triple talaq.

CM Adityanath alleged, "The Congress manifesto says that they will take people's property and distribute it. Do you want to allow the Congress and Samajwadi Party to loot your property?"

"Look at the condition of these shameless people. On one hand, they are eying on your property and on the other hand they are making the mafia and criminals their necklace and reciting Fatiha in their name", he added.

Referring to a statement made by former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh in 2006, CM Adityanath questioned the allocation of resources, stating Singh had remarked that Muslims have the first right on the country's resources. He raised concerns about the implications for Dalits, backward classes, Kharagvanshis, Pals, poor, farmers, women, and youth under such a framework.

CM Adityanath attributed the decline of terrorism in India to the tenure of the Modi government, highlighting the abolishment of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as a pivotal moment in combating terrorism. He said that the Modi administration's actions have instilled fear in Pakistan, prompting them to disassociate from any potential terrorist incidents in India.

CM Adityanath criticised the Congress for their alleged lack of progress during their 65 years in power, emphasising the need for change.

Taking aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, BJP leader slammed the repetition of poverty eradication slogans, originally introduced by his grandmother, Indira Gandhi, now echoed by Rahul Gandhi like a parrot. He criticised the lack of vision within the Congress party and highlighted PM Modi's efforts in poverty alleviation.

He urged support for NDA candidate Rajkumar Sangwan, emphasising the dynastic politics practiced by the Congress and Samajwadi Party, with the latter predominantly fielding family members as candidates. CM Adityanath warned of the potential resurgence of terrorism and mafia rule if votes were misdirected.
