The preliminary report by SDM stated that pushing by Baba's security and the slippery slope led to Hathras stampede. The report was submitted by Sikandra Rau sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) to the district magistrate (DM). As per the report, the SDM, who gave permission for the 'satsang', was also present at the venue when the tragic incident occurred, PTI reported.
Agra police canceled two congregations of preacher 'Bhole Baba' after the Hathras stampede. One of the 'Satsang Sabhas' was supposed to be held from July 4 to 11 in Saiyan and the other from July 13 to 23 in Shastripuram, PTI reported.
On police deployment at the ashram of Saakar Vishwa Hari 'Bhole Baba' in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, Karhal CO Santosh Kumar said: "There is a mess inside where some police officers went to eat. So far, we don't have any information regarding whether or not Baba is here. Police have been deployed for security purposes."
Demanding the arrest of 'Baba' Narayan Hari Sarkar, NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma said: "Whoever this Baba (Narayan Hari Sarkar) was, he did an illegal activity, he had asked for permission for 80 thousand people and gathered a crowd of more than 2 lakh. When all this happened, Baba ran away. I think an FIR should be filed against him, he should be arrested immediately and it should be found out on whose orders all this was happening. Is he a devotee or was there some plan behind this and why did he run away after so many people died? This is a matter of questioning, his followers who were servants also ran away...."
On the Hathras stampede incident, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala said: "This is a very sad incident that has happened in Hathras. A large number of people came there but there was no proper arrangement for them...This shows the Law and Order of the state...Action should be taken in this matter...."

We got the information about this in Parliament and we immediately came here after the session. Forensic experts along with dog squad collected evidence at the incident site in Hathras.
UP CM Adityanath Expresses Condolences
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the stampede. He instructed officials to reach the accident site and carry out relief measures.
"The loss of life in the unfortunate accident in Hathras district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved family. Instructions have been given to the concerned officials to conduct relief and rescue operations on a war footing and to provide proper treatment to the injured," CM Yogi said in a post on X.
"A team has been formed under the leadership of ADG, Agra and Commissioner, Aligarh and instructions have also been given to investigate the causes of the accident. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured," he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Lok Sabha, expressed his grief, saying, “Information has come about the death of many people in a stampede in Hathras, UP.
