A Dalit teenage boy in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur was allegedly thrashed and forced to consume urine and soil. His eyebrows were also shaved off by some youth. According to news agency IANS, the incident took place on Thursday, however, the FIR for the same was registered on Saturday after the intervention of Jaunpur SP Ajay Pal Sharma. The victim was sent for a medical examination to determine if he really was a minor. Meanwhile, the accused also lodged an FIR against him and alleged that he had sexually harassed a girl from their family.


Police officials told news agency IANS that a named FIR against the boy had been lodged under section 354 (outraging modesty) of IPC.


Meanwhile, Badlapur circle officer AK Singh told IANS, “On the complaint of the Dalit boy, a named FIR against two persons of his village was lodged under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and also sections of the SC/ST Act.”


In the victim's complaint, the father of the boy alleged that his son was returning home from the Aami area when some people caught hold of him and thrashed him. The complaint added that they forced him to consume soil and urine and shaved off his eyebrows. The father of the boy further alleged that the accused called him on the spot and allowed him to take his son home after warning them to not report this to the police, as reported by IANS.


The victim's father also alleged that he had contacted the Sujanganj police on Thursday evening itself but his complaint was not registered following which he had to meet the Jaunpur SP for the same.


Earlier this month, a Dalit woman was raped and her body was chopped into pieces in the Banda district. Her daughter lodged an FIR against one Rajkumar, his brother Bauwa Shukla and Ramakrishna Shukla in the matter.
