MS Dhoni and daughter Ziva shared a heartwarming moment on the field at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai as the two hugged each other after the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday (May 10). It has been a great season so far both for Dhoni individually as well as CSK who are currently sitting firm at the second place in the IPL 2023 points table with 15 points. The CSK skipper has played quite a few impactful cameos lower down the order while his keeping has been top notch. In addition, his captaincy calls have also reaped fruits after a forgettable outing last year.
On Wednesday too, Dhoni was at his best both with the bat and as a captain. His impactful cameo of a 9-ball 20 first ensured the home team posted a total in excess of 160 on a sluggish surface on offer, he then marshalled his troops to perfection with Delhi's batting only managing to put on 140/8 in their 20 overs, implying a Chennai victory by 27 runs.
Ziva, who was in the stands along with his mother Sakshi, was first seen happy with the way her father produced a boundary-laden cameo and then rushed to the field after CSK had wrapped up a win to give her dad an embrace. The video of the adorable moment was shared by the league's official social media handle.

CSK have two more matches scheduled in the league stage of the competition. Their next game is a home match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before an away match which will be a reverese fixture of their game against DC. At this moment, CSK are favourites to finish inside the top four and feature in the Playoffs and the Men in Yellow would want to play Qualifier 1 which gives them an extra game in case they fail to reach the finals in the first attempt.
