The Indian team tied the five-game T20I series against West Indies after an emphatic victory in the 4th match. The Men in Blue outplayed the Windies by nine wickets on Saturday at Lauderhill. Indian batters Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal dominated the proceedings and went on to make 165 runs for the opening wicket.

Both batters ended up scoring half-centuries and hammered the Windies bowlers who were clueless while defending a target of 179 runs. Jaiswal played an unbeaten innings of 84 off 51, while Shubman Gill smashed 77 off 47 deliveries.

After witnessing brilliant knocks by India’s opening pair, former India cricketer Robin Uthappa praised the duo and said that Gill and Jaiswal have the potential to become the best the country had ever produced. The Karnataka-based player while talking on Jio Cinema post the game, stated that they can become the next Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly for the Indian team.

Earlier, Sachin and Sourav made many records while batting together for the Indian team. They still hold the record in 50-over cricket with 8227 runs between them from 176 innings in which most of the runs (6609) had come in the opening spot.

"Everyone who plays for India are equally capable and have equal ability but the way Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill bat in tandem; they can bat for each other as well and they need to find that space. If they do, they are going to be a very dangerous pair for India in years to come. It will be a hot pair and they can be something as great as a Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly opening the batting," Robin Uthappa said on Jio Cinema after the match.

"They need to figure a few things out and if they do, they will do great things for India," he further added.

After winning the last game, India will now look to seal the series against West Indies in the final T20I match, slated to be played at the same venue on Sunday.
