 West Indies were 229 for 5 at Stumps on Day 3, trailing India by 209 runs in India vs West India 2nd Test in Trinidad on Saturday.

Jadeja picked up the wicket of Blackwood and Rahane's catch did the rest. The ball was pitched outside the leg and spun quite a bit. Blackwood wanted to block it but then ended up edging the ball towards Rahane who was stationed a bit wide, taking a great reflex catch.

Ashwin took the wicket of Brathwaite. It was a brilliant delivery from Ashwin as Brathwaite completely missed the line and got out after a gutsy knock of 75 runs.

Mukesh Kumar came with a breakthrough as he took the wicket of Kirk McKenzie and Ishan Kishan did the rest by taking an easy catch. It was a length delivery pitched outside off and McKenzie ended up nicking it towards the keeper.

Hello and welcome to ABP's live coverage of Day 3 of the second Test between India and West Indies. 

Background

After starting their innings from 288, team India ended up scoring  438 runs in their first innings of the second Test match against West Indies at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad.  The former India skipper Virat Kohli scored a total of 121 runs, reaching his 76th international hundred. Apart from Kohli’s heroics, Ashwin and Jadeja also scored fifties and powered India to a solid total in the first innings.


For West Indies, bowlers like Jomel Warrican and Kemar Roach were the stars with the ball, finishing with figures of 3 for 89 and 3 for 104 respectively. Jason Holder also bowled well and picked up a couple of wickets. In reply to India’s strong total, Windies batters started well as they lost their first wicket in the 35th over of the game when Tagenarine Chanderpaul wanted to hit it in the air but ended up getting caught by  Ravichandran Ashwin. Chanderpaul walked back to the pavilion after making 33 and ended a 71-run opening stand.


Towards the stumps on Day 2, West Indies did not lose any more wickets with skipper Kraigg Brathwaite (37) and debutant Kirk McKenzie (14) standing unbeaten on the crease.
