IND vs SL, 1st T20I LIVE Updates: Dasun Shanaka chooses to bowl first. India will bat first!

Background

Colombo: R Premadasa Stadium of Colombo will host the 1st T20I between India and Sri Lanka. The T20 will begin at 8 pm IST. Dasun Shanaka will be captaining in his debut T20I. Shikhar Dhawan led team India will be itching to improve their performance after the loss in the 3rd ODI. There are a few changes expected in the team that played the last ODI. From how the series has transpired so far, it looks like Ishan Kishan will be taking the gloves ahead of Manish Pandey.

Shikhar Dhawan will open the innings with Prithvi Shaw in all likelihood. Sanju Samson would also be present in the middle order and so will be Suryakumar Yadav, the debutant. Rahul Dravid is the coach of this team and has strengthened this young Indian team.

In the bowling department, the Pandya brothers will be doing the all-rounder duties while Bhuvneshwar, Chahal and Chahar could play in all likelihood. The real question would be between Yadav and Rahul Chahar.

"I think the competition will be good. You saw the Sri Lankan team improve a lot in the last two (ODI) matches. They played really well and they are a good team, with a lot of youngsters. We've both already played three matches now, so both teams know each others' strengths and weaknesses. That's a good thing, and it will add to the challenge," Dhawan said before the match.

The Colombo pitch is a belter and it looks like a great batting pitch. A lot of runs are expected to be scored today.

Probable India XI: Shikhar Dhawan (c), Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan (wk), Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal
