IND vs AUS 4th Test: India end day three at 289 for 3, still trailing Australia by 191 runs. Virat Kohli (59) and Ravindra Jadeja (16) remains unbeaten.

Virat Kohli scores a hard-fought fifty against Aussies on Day 3 of IND vs AUS Ahmedabad Test. He is now the fastest Indian batter to score 4,000 Test runs at home.

Nathan Lyon came up with a huge breakthrough, picking Shubman Gill's wicket. India's opener walked back to the pavilion after a well-made 128 runs. It was a good length delivery that came in sharp and Gill took that on his pads.

Gill smashed two back-to-back boundaries against Green. Earlier, the Punjab-based batter was looking uncomfortable against Green but then he hit him twice in the over. The first one was towards the extra cover region and the other one he smacked through the covers.

Indian batters are playing good cricket here, especially against Australian spinners. Both Pujara and Gill are batting patiently and hitting away loose balls. Gill is getting closer to his century.

India had a good first session where they scored 93 runs in 27 overs. After losing the wicket fo Rohit Sharma, Gill and Pujara held the fort and have been batting well against the Australian bowlers. Gill is batting at 65 and Pujara is at 22.

India suffered a huge blow as Rohit was sent back to the pavilion by Kuhnemann. Rohit was looking to hit the ball off his back foot but then he miscued it and Labuschagne took the catch at short cover point.

After dominating day 1 of the fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, day 2 was also owned by Kangaroos. They started their proceedings against Indian bowlers where they left on day 1. Both Usman Khwaja and Cameron Green unleashed fire as Khwaja scored 180 before walking back to the pavilion while Green also notched up his first Test century.


But then Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel came up with a breakthrough as the two sent Khwaja and Green to the pavilion. They broke the 208-run stand between Khawaja and Green.  Ashwin then scalped the wicket of Mitchell Starc. 






Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy also stitched a 70-run partnership for the ninth wicket, taking their team total to a huge 480 runs before Ashwin removed them and ended the innings with a six-wicket haul for 91 runs.


The Indian team in reply started the proceedings with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill who are batting at 17 and 18 runs respectively. The scorecard stands at India 36/0 as they trail by 444 runs. Gill looked good as he smashed the first six of the match and made it clear that the hosts will not give up easily.
