India openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have gotten India off to a strong start in reply to Australia's 480. At Stumps on Day 2, India (36/0) trail Australia by 444 runs after having to bear the brunt of 480 runs. The pitch in Ahmedabad continues to favor the batters unlike Indian pitches in first three Tests. The wicket is expected to stay the same on Day 3 as well. The stars of match on Day 2 are Usman Khwaja and R Ashwin. While Khawaja amassed 180 to help Australia post 480 in their 1st innings, for India, Ashwin bagged a six-wicket haul.
India's long toil finally comes to an end as they bowl out Australia for 480 after 167.2 overs on Day 2 of IND vs AUS Ahmedabad Test. Senior spinner R Ashwin is the pick of bowlers as he picks up a 6-fer. Usman Khwaja, star with the bat, scored 180 before getting out after Tea break.
WICKET!!! First ball after Tea and Khawaja departs. The left-handed batter has missed a straight ball from Axar Patel and India get the big wicket.
TEA ON DAY 2! 3 wickets in this session for India. R Ashwin got all three wickets to fall- Cameron Green, Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc. India's session this, fair to say arguably their first in the Test match so far. Australia are 409/7 at Tea On Day 2.
Ashwin came up with another wicket as he took the wicket of Starc and a sharp reflex catch by Shreyas Iyer at short leg did the rest. India are reeling now.
Ashwin followed it up by picking another wicket of Carey. It was a slower delivery, Carey was looking to hit it big but ended up edging the ball and Axar grabs an easy catch. India are back in the game after picking two quick wickets.
Ashwin finally provided a breakthrough after scalping the wicket of Green. It was a tossed-up delivery to the on side and Green gloved it. Srikar Bharat took a brilliant catch at the end and did the rest.
Cameron Green scored his maiden Test century against India in the fourth Test. It was a short delivery from Jadeja and Green played that delivery from his backfoot and guided it towards the third man region for a boundary.
Australia are batting at 347/4 at lunch on day 2. Usman Khwaja is playing at 150 while his colleague Cameron Green is on 95, eyeing his first Test century. Both batters have been dominating the Indian bowlers, playing every ball to their merits. As per the commentators, Indian bowlers should look to bowl the short balls to both Khawaja and Green as they looked uncomfortable while playing those deliveries.
Australia's explosive opener Usman Khwaja scored 150 runs. What a player he is!! The kind of cricket he has been playing in this Test is just commendable. He pulled the bowl towards the fine leg and reached the landmark.
This is now the highest partnership of the series so far between Khwaja and Green. They overtook Ashwin and Axar who built a stand of 114 runs in Delhi. Indian bowlers are looking absolutely clueless here at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Looks like Australian batters will dominate day 2 also against India. Both Khawaja and Green have been playing shots all around the park with so much ease. The Indian bowlers are finding it difficult to break their stand.
Jadeja started the proceedings for India on day 2. He was seen bowling tight lengths to both Khwaja and Green. Meanwhile, Green hit the ball towards the long-off and reached his fifty.

Australia scored a decent 255/4 at Ahmedabad, with Usman Khwaja scoring a brilliant century. After batting the entire day, he returned to the changing room unbeaten on 104.

Ravichandran Ashwin (1 for 57) and Ravindra Jadeja (1 for 49) were the other troublemakers for the Indians on the first day.
