The stampede incident before the Amrit Snan on Mouni Amavasya during the Maha Kumbh left saints and sadhus deeply disappointed. In a heartfelt moment, Mahamandaleshwar Premanand Puri of the Niranjani Akhada, visibly emotional, shared his anguish on camera. He revealed that the Yogi administration had been repeatedly urged—25 times, to be precise—to place the Kumbh arrangements under the army's supervision, but no one listened. He held the administration responsible for the stampede, accusing them of neglecting the safety of ordinary devotees. According to him, the focus of the entire administrative setup was on attending to VIPs while the common devotees were left unprotected, leading to the tragic incident.
