On Sunday, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) staged a protest in Mumbai against the recent desecration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue in Kolhapur. The protest began with a march from Hutatma Chowk in South Mumbai to the Gateway of India, featuring prominent MVA leaders such as Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, and Nana Patole. During the demonstration, Uddhav Thackeray hit posters of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar with sandals. He criticized Prime Minister Modi’s apology as arrogant. In response, CM Shinde accused the opposition of politicizing the issue and stated that the public is watching. He predicted that in the upcoming elections, the people of Maharashtra will reject them decisively.
