A significant development has emerged in the case of the rape and murder of a trainee female doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. Documents obtained by Aaj Tak reveal that a team of junior doctors was formed on August 9 to ensure the post-mortem followed all regulations and standard operating procedures. It was agreed that the team members would be present during the autopsy to immediately raise objections if any irregularities occurred. Questions had arisen over the transparency of the post-mortem of the rape victim, with junior doctors accused of tampering with evidence and a lack of transparency. A section of civil society also alleged that facts were suppressed by manipulating the autopsy report. However, a new document has surfaced on social media, challenging these allegations, showing that five junior doctors were present during the post-mortem to ensure transparency.
