Traveling between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 or 3 at Delhi Airport has become quite challenging, as traffic jams often prevent people from reaching the airport on time, causing them to miss their flights. To address this issue, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has decided to build an Automated People Mover (APM) between these terminals. DIAL aims to enhance connectivity between Terminal 1 and the other two terminals by introducing an air train. Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the busiest airport in the country, has three terminals. DIAL plans to implement an 'elevated and at-grade Automated People Mover (APM) system' based on the design, build, finance, operate, and transfer model. The tender for the APM, or air train, has already been issued, marking progress in this much-needed project.
