The Waqf Amendment Bill has ignited a political storm across the country. The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), which is reviewing the bill, has received 1.2 crore emails from people expressing support and opposition. Meanwhile, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya commented on the Waqf issue, stating, 'They (Waqf) have occupied properties worth crores. This amendment is necessary, and the government is bringing the right changes. I pray that this bill gets passed in both Houses.' Recently, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said that there is little difference between religious leaders and mafia figures. Rambhadracharya called this statement unfortunate. In an interview with a news channel, he remarked, 'Akhilesh knows nothing about religion. Just because he won 34 seats in Uttar Pradesh, he thinks he’s invincible, but that's not true. Religious leaders protect faith, while the mafia destroys it.'
