Ustad Taufiq Qureshi emphasized that parents should not try to mold their children into someone else. Sharing an anecdote, he recalled that when his father was 70 years old and still teaching tabla, a man once brought his son to him. The man asked his father how long it would take for his son to play the tabla like Zakir Hussain. In response, his father pointed towards him (Taufiq Qureshi) and said, 'There is someone even older than him, but I have no idea when they will be able to play like Zakir Hussain.'
