20 inmates, including six on death row, escaped from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's Rawalkot prison. One convict was injured during the escape and later died in a local hospital. The incident occurred between 2 pm and 2:30 pm on Sunday. It started when a prisoner requested a sentry to move his 'lassi' (a yogurt-based drink) outside his barrack. When the sentry complied, the prisoner overpowered him, took his keys, and unlocked other barracks. This allowed at least 19 prisoners to reach the main gate. This information was reported by Dawn, citing police sources.The officer mentioned that another prisoner was shot dead during the escape. He was serving a five-year sentence. The deceased was identified as Khayyam Saeed, who was serving a five-year term. The six death row inmates who escaped are Saqib Majeed, Usman Ikrar, Shameer Azam, Amir Abdullah, Faisal Hameed, and Nazir Yaseen.
