Arthritis and spine injuries: People are often confused about the differences between various types of arthritis, and cannot differentiate between pain induced by arthritis and spine injuries. Arthritis refers to the inflammation (swelling) and tenderness of joints, describes conditions that affect joints, tissues around the joint, and other connective tissues, and is characterised by joint pain and stiffness, symptoms which worsen with age. There are more than 160 different types of arthritis
