Researchers from the Indian Institute of Scientific Education and Research (IISER) have developed a novel drug development technique that can help link chemical tags to proteins while ensuring that the proteins do not lose their function. Chemical tags are used to label proteins. They are beneficial because one can attach the protein of interest to a polypeptide, say, a fluorescent protein.
